ROBOTICS

Images from Military Robot Visit to Columbus High School

Columbus High School is fortunate to have as one of its Partners in Education the Ft. Benning Solider Battle Lab. Within this arrangement, students have opportunities to go and observe state of the art robotic testing, international robotic competitions, and interact with world-class robotics experts. In addition, the CHS Space Program is borrowing two prototype "battle" robots for educations purposes.

The CHS Students take part in three major robotics competitions themselves. In Fall, the BEST competition has students design, build and compete a robot that is remotely controlled. In Spring, students build complex Lego-based robots that have to operate on their own with computer programming in a competition called BotBall. Students also compete in the Science Olympiad robotics competitions.
